The Picasso Percula Clownfish (Amphiprion percula “Picasso”) is a designer variant of the True Percula Clownfish, selectively bred for its unique, irregular white patterning. Each individual has a one-of-a-kind design, with bold splotches and swirls that give it an abstract, artistic look—hence the name “Picasso.” These eye-catching fish are hardy and full of personality, making them a standout addition to any saltwater aquarium. Like their standard counterparts, they may form symbiotic bonds with anemones but do just as well without them.

Care Level:
Ease: Moderate. Similar care to standard Percula Clownfish but with designer lineage.

Water Conditions:
Salinity: 1.020–1.025 specific gravity.
pH: 8.1–8.4.
Temperature: 74–79°F (23–26°C).

Tank Requirements:
Minimum tank size: 20 gallons.
Prefers live rock, caves, and open swimming space.
Requires stable water parameters and regular maintenance.

Temperament:
Behavior: Peaceful and social. May become territorial in pairs or when hosting an anemone.

Compatibility:
Pairs well with other peaceful reef-safe species like gobies, blennies, and small wrasses.
Avoid aggressive or overly dominant tankmates.

Size:
Adult Length: 3 inches (7–8 cm).
Growth: Females tend to be larger and more dominant than males.

Reef Compatibility:
100% reef-safe.
Will not harm corals or invertebrates.
May form symbiotic relationships with host anemones such as the Bubble Tip Anemone.

Additional Notes:
Picasso Percula Clownfish are omnivorous and thrive on a diet of high-quality marine flakes, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, and brine shrimp. Captive-bred specimens are the standard for Picasso morphs, ensuring they are well-adjusted to aquarium life and sustainably produced. With proper care, these designer clowns can live over 10 years and become a long-lasting, centerpiece fish in your reef setup.
