The Neon Tetra is a vibrant, small freshwater fish known for its striking iridescent blue body and bright red stripe that runs from mid-body to tail. This stunning coloration makes them one of the most popular choices for home aquariums. Originally from the clear waters of the Amazon basin, they are hardy and adapt well to community tanks. Their peaceful nature and schooling behavior create a captivating display.

Care Level:

• Ease: Beginner-friendly.
• Water Conditions: pH 6.0–7.0; Soft, slightly acidic water preferred.
• Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C).
• Tank Requirements:
  • Minimum tank size: 10 gallons.
  • Provide plenty of plants, hiding spots, and open swimming space.
  • Low to moderate lighting to mimic natural habitats.

Temperament:

• Behavior: Peaceful and social; thrives in groups of 6 or more.
• Compatibility: Excellent for community tanks; pairs well with other small, non-aggressive fish like guppies, rasboras, and corydoras. Avoid keeping with larger, predatory species.
