• Diet: Corn Snakes are carnivores and feed on appropriately-sized rodents. We feed our Butter Stripe Corn Snakes frozen-thawed pinkie mice, which are perfect for juvenile snakes. As they grow, they can transition to larger prey, such as adult mice or small rats.
• Housing: Corn Snakes require a secure enclosure with enough space to move and explore. A minimum tank size of 20 gallons is recommended for a juvenile, with larger enclosures (40 gallons or more) needed for adults. The tank should include hiding spots, a water dish, and branches or climbing structures for enrichment.
• Temperature: The ideal temperature for a Butter Stripe Corn Snake’s enclosure is 75-85°F (24-29°C) during the day, with a basking spot of 88-90°F (31-32°C). At night, the temperature can drop to 65-75°F (18-24°C). Providing a heat source, such as a heat mat or basking lamp, is essential for maintaining the correct temperature gradient.
• Humidity: Corn Snakes require 40-60% humidity, which can be maintained with proper ventilation and light misting. Excessive humidity can lead to respiratory issues, so it is important to ensure the humidity level stays within the recommended range.
