Description:
The Bubble Tip Anemone is a highly sought-after species in the reef aquarium hobby, known for its stunning, vibrant coloration and unique appearance. Its tentacles are often inflated into "bubbles," giving it a distinctive look that adds both beauty and movement to any marine tank. This anemone can range in color from bright green to shades of red, purple, and pink, depending on lighting and water conditions. It forms a symbiotic relationship with clownfish, providing a safe haven for the fish while the clownfish offers food and protection in return.

  • pH: 8.1–8.4.
  • Temperature: 72–78°F (22–26°C).

  • Requires stable water parameters and high water quality.
  • Provide a substrate that allows it to securely anchor itself, such as sand or fine gravel.
  • Moderate to strong water flow helps keep the anemone’s tentacles healthy and moving.

Temperament:

• Behavior: Generally peaceful but can become aggressive toward other anemones or nearby corals if not given enough space.
• Compatibility:
  • Ideal companions for clownfish species, particularly species like Ocellaris or Percula clownfish, which form a mutualistic relationship with the anemone.
  • Can be kept with other peaceful marine invertebrates and corals that do not invade its space.
  • Avoid housing with fish that may disturb or nip at the anemone's tentacles.

Size:

Additional Notes:
Bubble Tip Anemones are carnivorous and require a diet of meaty foods such as shrimp, fish, or frozen mysis shrimp. They can also benefit from the presence of natural light, as they host symbiotic algae (zooxanthellae), which provides them with some of their nutrition. Ensure they are not exposed to strong currents that could dislodge them from their substrate. With proper care, these anemones can thrive for many years, providing a stunning focal point in any reef aquarium.
